Along with many Salt Spring Islanders and businesses, we were already committed to projects fostering the well being of children here and abroad when we were approached about the Child Honouring Centre. Once we learned of the depth and scope of Raffi's vision, weaving together all of our worldwide efforts to improve the lives of children, how could we say ‘No’? How could anyone?

The Child Honouring vision is aligned with the Earth Charter and the UN’s Convention on the rights of the Child. It echoes both Nelson Mandela’s call “to turn this world around, for the children” and the Dalai Lama’s plea for a universal ethic for the world’s billions, regardless of religion.

The Centre for Child Honouring partners with like-minded organizations that are in alignment with our values and goals. By collaborating on joint projects or offering support to each other, we each get stronger.

We are pleased to be working with these organizations:

Design for Change Initiated in India, Kiran Sethi's inspiring program motivates kids to be the change they would like to see, all over the world. Raffi wrote the I Can Song for this movement.

Sierra Club BC - Promoting the responsible use of B.C.'s natural resources and a modern, equitable economy that sustains our planet in every way.

David J Smith, author of If The World Were A Village, a book and idea that helps kids be world-minded and aware of the diverse human family worldwide.
