Educators play a key role in the every day life of children & youth, thus providing a great service to society.

For over thirty years, teachers have used Raffi’s renowned music for young children to stimulate joyful learning in every area of the curriculum. Raffi's catalogue of timeless songs is as popular as ever, and his children's books and DVDs are well-loved at home and at school.

For teachers, choir directors and parents, lyrics and arrangements of many favourite Raffi songs are also available as free downloads.

In recent years, more and more educators have been learning about Raffi’s work with Child Honouring—his integrated philosophy for healthy child development, sustainable communities, and a child-friendly world.

Education needs to be responsive to the pressing issues of our times, as we make the necessary shift from a destructive bottom-line mentality to a compassionate and life-affirming sustainable society. As co-creators of a world fit for children, teachers at every level can model and teach the Child Honouring principles. Taken together, these offer a sustainable code of conduct in our personal lives and as members of society.

Raffi has given presentations on Child Honouring at a number of universities including Yale, Harvard, University of Toronto, and Dalhousie University (Halifax).

At University of Victoria (BC, Canada), Raffi spoke about Child Honouring and the Covenant to teacher-trainees who welcomed what these offer to their future classrooms. The Covenant For Honouring Children is in a growing number of elementary schools, and teachers are enthusiastic about putting its principles into practice.   Child Honouring—the children-first way of sustainability. A child-honouring society—a world fit for children—would be a sustainable one! The two go hand in hand. Education can make the link between Child Honouring and sustainability, so that the two are synonymous in our minds.   Child Honouring offers a new paradigm for global change, as well as myriad opportunities for educators to change the world through the ways they respect and regard their students. They can—and we all must help—educate and restore our children’s future.
